The 2014 Newton Stewart Walking Festival features 29 guided walks from coast to hill tops and everything in between and this year there are several new routes to complete. The high level routes are led by members of the Galloway Mountain Rescue Team. One of the more challenging walks is from Loch Doon (pictured above) to Loch Trool, described as one of the finest walks in the south of Scotland. There are plenty less strenuous rambles where nature and wildlife expert will accompany you adding to your enjoyment. And there are also themed walks – history, nature, the biopshere and walks that finish at a café or pub.
Transport is provided from Newton Stewart and registration details are available on their website. Click here to visit WalkFest and get all the information on the routes.
